How does ScreenTap work?+
Your iPhone plugs into your Mac over USB. ScreenTap streams the screen over that cable and reads it with on-device OCR. To tap, your Mac pairs with the iPhone as a Bluetooth pointer and keyboard, and drives an AssistiveTouch cursor exactly like a real accessory would. Your agent talks to all of it through a local MCP server.
Is this a simulator?+
No. It's your actual iPhone, with your apps, your accounts, iMessage and iCloud. Anything from the App Store works, including apps that refuse to run on simulators.
Can I try it before I buy?+
Yes. Download ScreenTap and use it free for 15 minutes with your iPhone connected. No account needed. If it works for you, pick a plan.
Do I need to install anything on my iPhone?+
Nothing. No helper app, no profile, no jailbreak, no Developer Mode. ScreenTap turns on AssistiveTouch for you over USB, and that's the only change on the phone.
Do I need Xcode or an Apple Developer account?+
No. No Xcode, no command line tools, no signing certificates, no $99/year membership. One Mac app and a cable.
Which agents work with it?+
Anything that speaks MCP: Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Codex, Cursor, Windsurf and more. ScreenTap serves MCP over HTTP on localhost and over stdio.
Where does my data go?+
Nowhere. There's no ScreenTap account and no ScreenTap cloud. The MCP server only listens on 127.0.0.1. Screenshots go to the agent you connected, and nowhere else.
What do I need?+
A Mac running macOS 15 or later, an iPhone, and a USB cable. That's it.
